Leah on the Offbeat is literally such an important book. Becky just went the fuck ahead and gave us wlw representation; just beautiful teenage girls navigating their feelings for one another and being awkward and happy endings and stuff. I’m so endlessly grateful for this, like I don’t think you guys understand just how much. And then I like the fact that this book puts Leah’s actions in Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda into perspective. Because here we all were, thinking that Leah’s likeness for Nick was the reason for her apparent hostility to Abby but it was so much more than that and the fact that this book shows that literally makes me so happy. Because the dry wit, the sarcasm, the anxiety that comes wondering whether the girl you like is straight or not and just everything else makes Leah so fucking relatable. Fucking hell, I’m just ughshehrhth
“Imagine going about your day knowing someone’s carrying you in their mind. That has to be the best part of being in love- the feeling of having a home in some else’s brain.” ― Becky Albertalli, Leah on the Offbeat.
